With surprising speed, the Gohraijj spun around, hitting Gabriel in the chest and knocking him back about ten feet. It reared up again, swinging at Salem with a deadly claw. "No!" Willow floated to the beast's face. "They're friends!" the beast roared again, and Willow's spirit scattered for a moment, making her useless to her friends for a moment.

Willow reappeared, though her outline was faded. She had just enough energy for one trick, and she hoped her friends would take the hint. Swooping down in front of Gabriel, Willow made a ring of white light around the Gohraijj, trying to impart a feeling of kinship into her friend's minds. Her spirit left the circle, weak she floated over her body. The light faded, sinking into the earth. The beast glared at the men, waiting for them to move.

Salem blocked with his wounded arms. The blow staggered him, but he remained up right. His arms were a mess now, his black coat now shredded to bits from the elbows down. He remained crouched and prepared to lunge at the beast when something seemed to hit him. It wasn't anything physical. It was more a feeling. He untensed and looked at the beast. This feeling, like the scent of blood was familiar. It didn't take him that long to figure it out this time though. It was a spell, one cast by Willow. She had performed enough of them on him for him to be at least that familiar with them. "Gabriel," he said, holding an arm out in front of the man. "Wait."

When the men didn't attack the Gohraijj slowly approached Willow's body just as her spirit sunk back into it. The beast touched its snout to her cheek, then nudged her body with its paw. Willow's blood disappeared into the ground as her eyes began to flutter open. The world was a blur as the Gohraijj stood up on its hind legs, opening it giant maw. yet instead of roaring and attacking, a pillar of shadows billowed forth before descending onto Willow's form, covering her from view for a moment. With the darkness dispersed, Willow sat up slowly and the beast turned and left, growling at Gabriel. She put a hand to her head, the pressure building in her temples. "Gabriel... Salem... what are you doing here?"

Willow stood to her feet shakily, propping herself on a staff, averting her gaze to the ground. "...You weren't supposed to..." she sighed, talking softly. "...see that. I didn't want anyone to freak out."

Salem watched the spectacle unfold before them. He felt that the creature meant Willow no harm. What intended for them was another question all together. Salem felt the blood run down his arms as a reminder of what it was capable of. Salem didn't feel at ease until it vanished. "Taking a walk, getting mauled. Just guy stuff." Salem said, rubbing the back of his head.

Willow took a moment to breathe and focus her thoughts. "We should get back to camp before anything else attacks. And so you know this happens every lunar month. So... don't attack the Gohraijj if you're around next time please. He brings me back, so if something happens to it, then I'll stay in the void..."

Willow sat next to the fire, warming her cold hands. It always took a few days for her body fully recover from the void, but she was used to it now. Though having Gabriel and Salem know of her biggest weakness made her uncomfortable, and soon she was lost in thought, countless scenarios playing through her mind.

"Yeah, we had loads of fun." Salem retorted as he took up a seat beside the fire. It felt nice to get close to the warmth. It had been so long since he'd sat next to a camp fire he'd forgotten what it felt like. His new gift was not without drawbacks. His healing factor was relient upon his consumption of food, specifically meat. Without his hunger spurring him on his ability to heal was eakened. For the first time in decades he tended to his wounds, wrapping the remains of his cloak around his battered forearms. He looked towards Gabriel and Willow and sighed. "Loads," he repeated.
