He chuckled and slid a hand onto hers and watched the fire "it's a cold but beautifull night"

Willow glanced down at their hands before looking at Gabriel, the gesture taking her by surprise. "I'm okay now, Gabriel." She squeezed his hand with reassurance. They sat around the fire for a while, the sky slowly starting to brighten with dawn. Willow got up and began packing up their camp. "We should head out soon. Get a good start on the day."

Salem had long since fallen asleep. In fact, as soon as Gabriel had awoken for his shift the cursed man had begun to lull, his whittling falling from his hands. Strangely enough he remained seated, only his soft snoring signalling that he had stopped paying attention to the world about him. He was grateful to get some sleep, dreading the idea of only having four hours in the span of ninty six. He dreamt of dragons that night and of far off worlds.

{willow} Willow shook everyone awake before gathering them around the fire for breakfast. "We'll be going through the mountains now. We'll double on the watch in case of trolls." She rolled some sausage links in a pan, the smell wafting through the camp. "So be on your guard."

"If we work together, we should get through it just fine," Willow agreed, sliding the sausages off into their plates. "They turn to stone in the daylight, so we'll have to start watching when the sun goes down."

"Trolls?" Salem asked wearily as he was roused from his slumber. He had never encountered trolls in his journeys. Sure, he had heard stories while growing up and a few other legends as he traveller the world, but he had never come face to face with one. "Heh, I figured the dragon was all we had to worry about." He stretched, emitting a soft yawn to accompany his creaking bones.

{willow} "The main threat, certainly. But as the goblin scout proved last night, we need to be a little more careful." She drank deeply from her cup. "But we should be okay if we work together." Taking her book up, she wrote some more in its pages, obviously doing revisions considering the strike outs she was doing. "We should head out after breakfast. We may not make camp till we get out of the mountains, so be prepared for that. Take naps on your horse if you need to."

Stretching Willow put out the fire, covering it with dirt. She stowed away the dishes in her bag before mounting her horse. "Let's be off then." She waited for the others to get ready before leading them back onto the trail.

Willow grinned. "Yes, I'm fine, Gabriel. I didn't mean to scare you last night. Honestly, I was hoping to hide my condition altogether until I had it under control. And are you okay?" She looked him over with concern. "Your wounds are healed, aren't they?"

Willow chuckled, smiling back at him. "I wish I had simple aspirations like you." She didn't have the heart to tell him she may very well die by the year's end. Quietly she sent out a prayer.
