Calypso swam through the river's current looking around nervously. She was lost, and if she were able, she'd be kicking herself. The local fish were rude and she quickly gave up asking them for directions, especially averting attention from more aggressive aquarian animals. She soon found herself at the base of a waterfall; sighing she turned around, propping her arms on the bank. Her white hair drifted in the water like foam.

Calypso's thoughts wandered from the strange coloring of the water to her family back in the ocean, but she didn't want to linger on them for too long. She muttered under her breath, but her voice was altered above water into gibberish. She leaned back, making a small splash in the water. The outline of a human caught her eye, and with a yelp she sank below the surface, watching from a distance.

After a long while Calypso poked her head above water, blinking slowly, watching the man. The sun had started its descent when she got up the courage to approach the human, swimming back to the side of the river. He seemed to be finishing his routine and Calypso splashed a small wave of water towards him to get his attention.

A small squeak escaped her lips, sinking a little lower in the water. With a slender finger, she scribbled that she was lost in the mud, looking at him hopefully.

She looked from his hand to his face a few times before pointing back at the message. Sinking down so that her mouth was submerged, she was able to speak, "Calypso lost yesterday..."

She motioned with her head towards the falls, swimming slowly upstream beside the human. "Why here?" her voice seemed to be made out of water, rustling just over the noise of river.
