Calypso looked at her legs with bittersweet emotions. 'It's a long story, Rotieart...' She sighed, stretching out on his couch. 'I dreamed of a different world... But when I arrived there, I was hunted, not loved as I had been promised.' Slowly she was gaining a better grasp on his language through their telepathy.

She nodded slowly, glad to finally find a friendly face. 'There was a fisherman some time ago that was lost at sea. His crew was on the verge of death, having been stranded for weeks they were quickly running out of room. I happened across their path, a fever dream to them. Yet the captain implored my help for his men.' She looked out a window wistfully. 'Once I helped him, the captain and I grew close. He was a young man trying to find his way in the world... So it wasn't long before I came to desire his world. We searched far and wide for a way to be together..." Calypso touched her leg sadly. '...And then I found her... a sorceress to give my body an alternate shape. But when I came to captain, he... He...' She closed her eyes as sadness and betrayal washed over Rotieart's mind, flashes of past images shot through his mind's eye. 'He wasn't himself anymore and his friends almost killed me. Luckily I made it back to the ocean, but my transgressions were not missed by my King, and I was banished...' She looked at him, her face long. 'I wish to go back, but I am wanted in neither world.'

The next morning Calypso woke to a dim early morning. The room was on the verge of warmth as she crept out from her blankets and made her way to the kitchen. As a guest, she determined she may as well make breakfast. Though she wasn't sure what half the food in his cabinets were... So she chose to make simplse pancakes and fruit bits, with slices of fresh fish.
