Something about the man felt off to Salem. It wasn't just his personality or the way he carried himself. It was something in his aura, in the way he smelled. Salem couldn't put his finger on it though. It unnerved him though to the point where he had followed the doctor's example and unsheathed his stolen sword. "I'm assuming that it has something to do with my map." He emphasized the last two words, his red eyes darting towards the sheet of parchment grasped in the man's hands. Gluttony was only a part of Salem's curse. Greed was another. Very rarely was it played upon, but it flared up now.

Again Gallows laughed, bits of meat falling from his beard. "Partly, yes." He stared at Salem with a mad glint in his eye. "But we never would have know without the girl!" Gallows gestured to the doctor. "Tell him, my friend! He be on the wrong side o' things, indeed."

"Doc, what the hell is he talking about?" he asked, peering at the doctor from the corner of his eyes. His sword remained naked and trained upon the current captain of the Raleigh.

Doctor J grunted, not taking his eye off Gallows. "Lad, ye need to trust me till we get yer map. Charm will tell ye e'erythin' when she's safe--" "Oh but she won't be," Gallows interjected. "I'm sure by now my men have taken the little wench for her last punishment." And with that, he lunged at the two men, sword flying through the air in precise attacks.

"My trust is a hard thing to earn, Doc." Salem spat at the man. He found himself growing incredibly annoyed with the people in the room. Thankfully, Gallows had obliged to help him work out his growing frustration. Salem's sword flew out, meeting the other man's blade in mid-swing with bone rattling force. "Swinging a sword at me isn't the best way to earn it though." Salem's returned his full attention to Gallow's, baring his pointed teeth at him. He pressed the charge, but found the man's sword arm unwavering. It was a curious matter. Salem felt a similar feeling as when he was manacled. His inhuman strength fleeing him. Even without it he was still a powerfully built man. Strong enough to hold his own against the likes of Gallows.

The doctor soon joined the fight, stabbing at Gallows' large belly, hoping to truly spill his guts to the floor. Gallows managed to disarm Doctor J, and slashing him across the chest in the process. The sight of his blood just enrage the Celt all the more, and he charged the Captain with his fists swinging. Again Gallows was able to keep up, his blade and free hand both striking out. "Give up ye sea dog!" Gallows shouted confidently. "Maybe I'll let ye live!" He roared with laughter, pushing Doctor J off balance. Just as he was about to jump back into the fight screaming erupted above deck, making the captain laugh louder. "Y'see?! She's done fer, doc." Doctor J tried to detach himself to help Charm, but Gallows was fast, cutting the back if his legs. With the doctor howling in pain on the floor, Gallows turned to Salem. "Ye can't beat me, boy. Surrender now." The scene above deck sounded as if utter chaos had broken out; there was mad laughter, things falling over, crates falling into the sea, and for a moment there was a singular high-pitched scream.

Jack felt ad though how might get out of this as he waited with Charm near the cells. He looked towards her and felt a rush of anger at the men who would dare due something like this to a girl. He looked towards the entrance wanting to be with the others as they went for Salem's map. His wish for action was soon granted as some of the ship crew broke into the cell room and charges at Charm. "HIDE CHARM!" he shouted as he just, led up and began firing shards of ice at the men attacking.

Charm barely registered the attack before one of the men had grabbed herby hair hair. An Ice shard stuck out from his arm, but he didn't seem to notice as he began to drag her to the door. The other three surged Jack, knocking aside most of his ice attack. The largest assailant swung a giant hammer at his head

Jack dodge the strike but was soon knocked down by one of the men that charged him. He watched helplessly as the man dragged charm out of the room. "Dammit!" Jack swore as he created ice spikes from his body forcing the men off him. He jumped up and ran out into the hallway looking for Charm. He turned back to the men and saw them standing and preparing for a fight. "Shit! I don't have time to mess with you guys right now," he said as he created an ice wall in front of the door and began heading towards the ships deck to find Charm and the others.

Three of the crew were pulling at Charm's limbs, with their captive grunting in pain. She didn't know if Jack was around, but she called out to him. "Jack! Help--!" For a moment she was stifled as another crewmen elbowed her stomach, the wind out of her. They then tossed her body towards Jack, almost knocking them over the side of the ship. Charm fell heavy against him, her head falling at an odd angle.

"I'll take my chances." Salem replied as chaos erupted around him. He had stood on enough battlefields to know that he needed to remain focused on his current target. Gallows was the largest threat on board the Raleigh. Anyone else was merely an insect in his way. He tightened his grip on the cutlass and took a single step forward before the shrill cry broke through the panic. Salem froze as he saw Charm appear before them, hurled towards the wounded doctor. Just as his eyes were taken off of the Captain the large man moved with incredibly speed. He performed a deft series of movements with his wrist, causing Salem's blade to go flying from his hand.
It flew ten feet before sinking into a barrel, it's contents dripping down onto the deck. Gallows placed his blade towards Salem's neck, showing off his brilliant teeth again. "Guess you've taken your last chance, lad." Salem scowled at the man, refusing to believe that he had just disarmed him. There was no way he was a mere mortal, but Salem couldn't smell anything but the stench of humanity on him. Something was helping him, robbing Salem of his powers while he was in his presence.
"... What do you want?" Salem asked in defeat.

Jack stood on deck and felt his anger boil over within him. "Salem," he shouted over the noise of the chaotic deck. He watched as the beast of a man brought his comrade down. "Dammit," he said under his breath as he checked on Charm and the doctor. "Hey are the two of you okay?"

Charm didn't answer, the doctor grunted, holding his legs. "We'll be fine. Hold them off!" He started to pull himself towards the rowboats.

"You've got some talents that I'm keen on attainin'. And I seem to be findin' myself lackin' a proper first mate. I want ye to come along with me. We can find that treasure of your's and we'll split it nice and even, savvy?" Gallows replied, lowering his weapon as a show of good faith. Salem mulled it over for a time. The life of a pirate had always appealed to him, but his greed and better judgement won out.
"There's a slight problem with that." Salem said as he looked to his side, finding the doc and Charm fleeing towards a life boat.
"Aye?" Gallows asked his eyebrow arching.
"It's my god damn map!" Salem shouted as he proceeded to rush forward, throwing all of his strength and weight into a shoulder tackle. The air went rushing out of Gallows lungs as he was rammed with over two hundred pounds of muscle. Salem snatched at the map and spun on his heels. As he ran from Gallows he felt much of his strength returning. It was a stroke of good fortune that he needed for his next manoeuvre. He grabbed Charm off of the deck, swinging her over his shoulder and then grasped Jack by his belt. He carried them both with him as he barrelled towards the edge of the boat.
He leapt into the air, seemingly unaffected by the extra weight, and landed in one of the hanging life boats. The beam holding the boat in place cracked at the sudden impact, but held fast. "Jack! C'mon!" he shouted at the frost covered teenager. He dropped the Doc as carefully as he could, freeing up one hand. He clenched his hand and then swiped at the breaking beam, causing it to give under their combined weight. It was a thirty foot drop from the gunwale. Something Salem hadn't accounted for. The group landed with a loud crash, their small vessel dipping beneath the sea for a moment before bouncing back up.
Gallows was recovering from having the wind knocked out of him and snarled. "Turn her about!" he cried, searching his person for the map. He felt the well worn parchment crinkle as he reached for it and pulled it out to inspect it. His face turned red with rage as he held half of the map in his hand. "Hurry, ya dogs!" he added, running towards the bow of the ship, his black eyes trained on the departing boat.

Charm stirred with water splashing her face. Moaning she rolled towards the side of the dingy. "Water... Put..." The doctor nodded, seeming to understand her request, dipping her arm into the water, her blood spreading out. With that Doctor J pulled her back into the boat, Charm unmoving. He grabbed an oar, tossing the other to Salem. "Move it, lad! Move!" Without waiting for him, he began to row the boat from the ship. "There's an island a few miles off!"
